A Bit of History Jeff graduated from Princeton University in 1979 with a Bachelor’s degree in Politics. He remains active in the Kansas City Princeton Alumni Association. His relationship with Princeton alumni has given him access to influential business and political leaders all across the United States. He became a lawyer in 1983, graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law. His primary practice has always been litigation, trying many cases in California, Kansas, Missouri, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. Jeff’s trial practice includes business, personal injury and criminal matters, and Jeff continues to have a federal criminal practice. He has personally argued appeals in the California Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. To round out his representation of businesses, he obtained a Masters of Laws in Taxation in 1998 from Golden Gate University School of Law. Perceiving the frustration and consternation of his clients with hourly fees, which promptly become many client’s biggest business expense, Jeff implemented the idea of value billing, which allows clients to determine what legal services are worth TO THEM, and does not artificially inflate the cost of legal services. He believes that predictability and affordability of legal fees, with competent representation and the willingness to fight hard, provides his clients with exactly what they both need, and deserve. |
